Case: Ukulele Kids Club – Music as a Refuge
Context:
When the war in Ukraine broke out, hundreds of thousands of refugees flooded into neighboring countries — among them, many children. In response, a number of Polish music therapists began visiting refugee camps, using music as a way to help these children escape, even momentarily, the harsh reality they were facing.
In this context, the Ukulele Kids Club approached us to develop a nationwide fundraising campaign across the United States. The goal was to raise funds to purchase ukuleles that would be sent to the border between Ukraine and Poland. These instruments would equip the music therapists with a simple yet powerful tool to help bring some comfort and emotional relief to the children.
The ukulele, being small and easy to transport, quickly became the ideal choice for those working in the field.
What we did:
We launched a national campaign across the U.S., engaging musicians who already used the ukulele, artists who contributed songs, and celebrities who lent their time and platforms
